This Privacy Policy explains how ClearVista Labs LLC ("ClearVista," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the Bearings mobile application, website, content, features, and related services (collectively, the "App").

The App provides non-medical guided wellness breaks for general wellness and productivity purposes. It may include focus timers, scheduled reminders, mindfulness exercises, breathing exercises, stretching, movement, yoga-inspired practices, relaxation techniques, soundscapes, filters, saved favorites, activity history, and personalized recommendations.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information depending on how you use the App and which features are available to you.

1.1 Account and Login Information

If you create an account or use premium features, we may collect information such as:

We may allow anonymous or limited authorization for certain free features. Premium features may require account creation.

1.2 App Usage and Activity Information

We may collect information about how you use the App, such as:

1.3 Wellness Goals and Preference Information

During onboarding or through App features, you may choose to provide information about goals, preferences, or interests, such as focus, stress, anxiety, burnout, sleep, recovery, relaxation, mindfulness, movement, or similar wellness topics. Onboarding questions are optional, and we use your responses to personalize recommendations and improve your App experience.

We use this information to personalize your App experience, recommend activities, organize content, improve the App, and provide features you request. Some laws may treat certain wellness-related information as "consumer health data." Please see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for additional information.

1.4 Journaling and Reflection Practices

Some App content may invite you to journal, reflect, or write down responses outside the App. Current launch assumptions are that journaling practices are intended to be completed off-app, such as with pen and paper, and that the App does not store journal entries.

If the App later allows in-app journals, notes, reflections, or similar stored content, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.

1.5 Custom Activities, Payment and Subscription Information

If you create a custom activity, we may collect and store the information you provide, such as the activity title, description, instructions, category, tags, and link. The title field is required to create a custom activity. The other fields may be optional. Custom activities are stored for your personal use in the App and are not intended to be visible to other users. ClearVista may access custom activities as needed to operate, support, secure, and improve the App.

If you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, payment and billing will be processed through Apple App Store or Google Play as merchants of record. We use RevenueCat to help manage subscription status, entitlements, and related subscription records. We may receive information such as subscription status, entitlement information, transaction identifiers, purchase history, and app store related payment status.

We do not receive or store full payment card numbers for purchases processed through Apple App Store or Google Play.

When you delete your account, we take steps to delete or disconnect associated RevenueCat customer records, subject to subscription administration, app store, payment, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security, and legal requirements.

1.6 Device, Technical, and Analytics Information

We and our service providers may collect technical information, such as:

We use Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore in nam5 US, App Check, Firebase Hosting for legal pages, Firebase Analytics/GA4, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. We also use Cloudflare R2 and Workers for media hosting and delivery. Cloudflare may receive IP address and technical request information when users access media or related services.

Firebase Analytics/GA4 collects app event data associated with a per-device app instance ID. If you answer certain onboarding questions, GA4 may receive your selected onboarding response category as an event parameter. We do not call setUserId in GA4, so GA4 event data is not linked to your ClearVista account by us. GA4 event data is retained according to our GA4 retention setting, currently 14 months.

On Android, if you install the App through certain affiliate or referral links, the App may read Play Install Referrer information, parse referral or campaign information, store a referral identifier on your user record, and use related attribution information for analytics and referral program administration. On iOS, attribution information may be stored in aggregate, including through Apple Search Ads attribution or similar attribution tools.

Firebase Crashlytics may collect pseudonymous crash reports and diagnostic information. Crashlytics crash reports are retained according to Firebase's standard retention period, currently 90 days.

If you use calendar export features, the App creates or exports calendar events at your direction. The App does not read or store the contents of your calendar.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

We do not use the App to provide medical advice, mental health advice, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, emergency support, or professional healthcare services.

3. Personalization and Recommendations

The App uses information such as onboarding responses, selected goals, saved favorites, activity history, break history, timer usage, and App interactions to recommend activities and personalize your experience.

Personalized recommendations are intended to help you find relevant wellness breaks and productivity-support content. They are not medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, or professional recommendations.

4. Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics/GA4 to understand how users interact with the App and to improve App functionality. Analytics may include app events such as feature usage, screens viewed, timer usage, activities completed, session activity, and device/performance information.

We do not call setUserId in GA4, so GA4 event data is not linked to your ClearVista account by us. GA4 event data is associated with a per-device app instance ID and is retained according to our GA4 retention setting, currently 14 months.

We use Firebase Crashlytics to identify, diagnose, and fix crashes and performance issues. Crashlytics reports are pseudonymous and are retained according to Firebase's standard retention period, currently 90 days.

We do not use in app advertising. If you answer certain onboarding questions, GA4 may receive your selected onboarding response category as an event parameter.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients:

5.1 Service Providers

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate the App, including hosting, infrastructure, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, email, customer support, payment/subscription management, and security providers.

Current service providers and technical tools include Google Firebase, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore in nam5 US, App Check, Firebase Hosting for legal pages, Firebase Analytics/GA4, and Firebase Crashlytics; Cloudflare R2 and Workers for media hosting and delivery; RevenueCat for subscription management and entitlement status; Apple App Store and Google Play as merchants of record for app store purchases and subscriptions; Kit for email marketing; and support email systems used to communicate with users, including support emails sent to hello@clearvistalabs.com.

We may update our service providers as the App develops and will update this Privacy Policy as required by applicable law.

5.2 App Stores and Payment Providers

Apple App Store and Google Play process purchases and subscriptions as merchants of record. RevenueCat helps us manage subscription status, entitlements, and related subscription records. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

5.3 Legal, Safety, and Compliance

We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our Terms, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect ClearVista, users, or others.

5.4 Business Transfers

If ClearVista is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

6. No Sale; No In-App Advertising

We do not sell personal information or consumer health data. We do not use in app advertising.

If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices or choices required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, maintain your account, operate subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.

We may retain different categories of information for different periods. For example:

We may delete or de-identify inactive account or App data after 24 months of inactivity, subject to technical feasibility and legal, security, subscription, backup, and compliance exceptions.

8. Your Choices

Depending on the features available, you may be able to:

Account deletion is intended to delete your account and associated account level app data, subject to exceptions. Some information may not be deleted immediately or may not be deleted as part of account deletion, including consent audit records, de-identified aggregate engagement counters, GA4 event data that we do not link to your account, Crashlytics reports, payment and subscription records, RevenueCat customer and entitlement records, Firestore backups for up to 7 days, device local preferences that remain on your device, and support emails. When you delete your account, the App disconnects the device from the RevenueCat customer record, but the RevenueCat customer record may persist on RevenueCat's servers.

You may need to uninstall the App or clear local App data to remove device local preferences stored on your device.

To make a privacy request, contact us using the information below or use available in-App settings. If you use the analytics opt out toggle, the App will opt you out of GA4 and Crashlytics to the extent supported by the App and those services.

EU/UK users may also receive an analytics consent prompt when first using the App.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it as required by law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Consumer Health Data

Some wellness-related information may be considered consumer health data under certain laws. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy provides additional information about how we collect, use, disclose, retain, delete, and protect wellness-related information that may be considered consumer health data.

If you answer certain onboarding questions, your selected onboarding response category may be sent to GA4 as an event parameter. We do not call setUserId in GA4, so GA4 event data is not linked to your ClearVista account by us.

Requests relating to consumer health data are handled under our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, subject to applicable exceptions for consent records, aggregate data, analytics data not linked to an account, subscription and payment records, backups, device local data, support communications, security, and legal compliance.

12. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

We do not currently sell personal information or use personal information for in app advertising. We do not currently plan to use personal information for targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

If we deny your request, in whole or in part, and applicable law gives you a right to appeal, you may appeal our decision by contacting us at hello@clearvistalabs.com and writing "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond to appeals as required by applicable law.

These rights may not apply in all circumstances.
